Description
CICA, known for its healing properties, is essential for our skin, often considered our first line of defense, as it requires time to heal when damaged. Achieving a normal, healthy appearance doesn’t happen overnight. CICA assists in skin repair, but even with its help, difficulties can arise that potentially prolong the recovery process. This challenge is particularly evident during pregnancy, leading to the appearance of stretch marks.
Titrated extract of Centella asiatica, better known as CICA or Tiger grass, (and cica is the abbreviation for cicatrix/scar in French) is a highly purified composition of some of the most potent molecules found in this plant. CICA works to repair damaged skin faster and restore skin integrity through the vital proteins within the dermis and by a soothing effect. Our extract comes from wild centella asiatica, harvested in Madagascar. This specific botanical variety is more stable in terms of composition of pentacyclic triterpenes (active ingredients), has a higher amount of these active ingredients and grows in the wild. In culture and artificial breeding, it loses its pharmacological profile and has a low content of active substances. In our formula we combine CICA with Provitamin B5 (panthenol), known for its moisturizing and skin-repairing properties. Topically applied, panthenol penetrates the epidermis, where it is absorbed by the skin cells and converted into pantothenic acid, where it acts on the hydration of the stratum corneum. In addition, it helps to strengthen the hydrolipidic film, preventing moisture loss and dehydration.
